The problem

The glass is cheap.
The day is not

Nobody who rings here is upset about the price of a windscreen. They are upset that a loaded truck is sitting in a yard, the run is booked, and every hour it does not move is an hour nobody gets paid for.

So we built the business around the clock rather than around the glass. We carry the largest selection of heavy vehicle screens in Melbourne’s east, which is the difference between next week and tomorrow. We run mobile vans so a truck that cannot move still gets done. And we glaze overnight in the workshop, so the truck is back in service at dawn and the trading day is never touched.

Twenty years of it, all qualified glaziers, all heavy vehicle. Not a car shop that will take a truck if it has to.

How it works

Three steps, and
none of them are paperwork

01

Ring the workshop

Make, model, year, and where the truck is sitting. Four facts. That is enough to price the screen and tell you honestly when we can get it in.

02

Pick mobile, workshop or overnight

Our van comes to the yard, or the truck comes to Eastspur Court. Drop it after the run and it cures overnight.

03

Back on the road

New glass, lifetime warranty on the workmanship and the materials. If it is an insurance job we invoice the insurer, not you.

Questions

Asked and answered

How fast can you get my truck back on the road?

It depends on the glass. If the screen is on our shelf, and for the common models it usually is, we can often do it the same day or the next morning. For anything we have to order in we will tell you the honest lead time on the phone rather than book you in and hope.

Do you come to me or do I bring the truck in?

Both, with one hard limit. Onsite work is Melbourne's eastern suburbs only, and we run fully equipped vans across them for medium-sized trucks and commercials. Outside the east the truck comes to Kilsyth South, and so do prime movers and anything with big curved glass wherever they are, because the urethane needs to cure on level ground and out of the weather.

What is the overnight service?

You drop the truck at the workshop at the end of the day's run. We cut out the old screen, prep the aperture and set the new glass, and it cures overnight. You collect it in the morning. The truck does not miss a trading day.

Will you deal with my insurer?

Yes. We do all insurance company work and bill the insurer direct, so there is no paperwork at your end and nothing out of pocket beyond your excess.

Do you do fleets?

Yes, and a good part of the workshop's week is fleet work. Fleet accounts get account billing, one invoice, priority booking and multiple vehicles done in the same visit.

What warranty do I get?

A lifetime warranty on the workmanship and on the materials for every new screen we fit.

Which makes do you do?

All of them. DAF, Freightliner, Hino, International, Isuzu, Iveco, Kenworth, Mack, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Scania, Sinotruk, UD, Volvo, Western Star and White. If it is heavy and it has glass in it, we have done it.

Is it legal to drive with a cracked truck windscreen?

In Victoria a windscreen with damage in the driver's critical vision area, or a crack long enough to compromise the screen's strength, will fail a roadworthy and can draw a defect notice. If you are not sure, send us a photo and we will tell you straight.
